Timur was appointed Vice-President of Threat Research at Kaspersky Lab in April
2018. In his role Timur is responsible for anti-malware, content-filtering and
whitelisting laboratories, technology research, development of threat prevention
technologies and expert systems, product performance and software security.
Timur joined Kaspersky Lab in 2006 as a project manager of technology
research team. In 2011 he was appointed Head of Infrastructure development
unit, taking charge of developing and implementing expert systems, where he led
implementation of machine learning and big data analytics for automation of malware
detection. By 2014 he had become Director of the Anti-Malware Research Unit.
The team under his leadership received numerous acknowledgments from independent test labs
and industrial analysts for the quality of protection against threats.
Prior to joining Kaspersky Lab, Timur worked as an associate professor at ITMO
University. Timur graduated from ITMO University in St. Petersburg in 2003 and
became PhD in 2005.
